Lotus Press was founded in 1981 with the purpose of publishing books supporting the work of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother, as well as the science of Ayurveda. Since that time, we have published in printed format and e-book format the main writings of Sri Aurobindo and many other texts, as well as an extensive array of books on Ayurveda, classical spirituality, and Vedic Astrology.
Santosh has been studying yoga since 1981 when he was introduced to the writings of Swami Vivekananda. Shortly thereafter he began studying the work of Sri Aurobindo and resided at Sri Aurobindo Ashram for a period of time between 1973 and 1974. Upon his return to the United States he began distributing the books of Sri Aurobindo and eventually publishing those books in the USA editions. Lotus Press is very active with a publications list exceeding 350 titles, and adding 6-12 new titles per year. Lotus Press has the most extensive list of publications in the field of Ayurveda in the USA, and is the USA publisher of the main writings of Sri Aurobindo. Publications are supported in both print and e-book formats
Lotus Press publications are sold throughout North America. There is an active translation program with books published across many countries in numerous languages through collaborative efforts with publishers in those countries. Lotus Press has also sponsored providing books at no charge to Sri Aurobindo centers in North America, as well as to a number of university libraries and incarcerated prisoners who seek spiritual information
Lotus Press continues to expand its outreach as it develops new publications and works with spiritual practitioners around the world to aid in the dissemination of literature focused on inner realization and spiritual growth
